I can’t believe that I have lived in oblivion all my life!
Why didn’t I figure this out for so long now?

Hello Photizolife reader, you are super welcome!

I have some interesting news for you! Please sit back and hear me on this.

Few days ago, I took a personality test. This is not the first time I’m being exposed to one, but there was just something a little bit different about this particular one.

After going through the strengths and the weaknesses of the several personalities; I noticed a set of individuals whose weakness included the fear of rejection and the fear of making a mistake.

For a while, I was drawn to this, because to a very great extent I know what the fear of making a mistake feels like.

All my life, ( it’s not plenty though, Lol) I always thought that it was a good thing to always avoid risks and mistakes. I even prided myself in it. You see how ignorant I was.

It’s still hard to believe that I have been making a mistake all my life by trying to run from making one. Please read that line again.

With further reflection, I realized that this seemingly “interesting and reasonable” fear is actually holding a good number of us from breaking out.

So, you want to start a new thing but because you are scared of making even the tiniest of the mistakes, you sit back and do nothing instead of trying out first to see how it goes.

As I continued to ruminate on this, the story of Peter and John with the crippled Beggar flashed my mind.

If you can remember your bible stories, you should know this one.

Acts 3:1-10.

Apparently, this was the very first public healing of peter.

It happened that Peter and John were about to go into the temple; they met a man who was lame from birth, laid at the gate of the temple, called Beautiful.

This man asked for alms, but peter and John had no substantial material wealth to offer him.

Peter said “Look on us…silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

Remember, this was the first time the bible ever recorded Peter performing a public miracle after the ascension of Christ.

PC; Seed of faith

Now, let’s imagine if Peter was held back by the fear of making a mistake.

Moreover, he was a “novice”, he never tried it before, at least not in the open.

Peter wasn’t scared of the “What if”, he wasn’t scared of making a mistake either.

Actually, he reached out and pulled the lame man up, probably the man was doubting if he could actually stand up and walk just like that.

Peter understood well that there was power inside him and peradventure, the man didn’t walk, that doesn’t negate the Fact that there was power inside him.

See Dear, You are not your mistake(s), So even if you try and make one or two mistakes, that still doesn’t change who you are.

You my dear are a work in progress and you see that “I can never afford to make a mistake mentality“, it’s a trap.

Trust me, I thought for a very long time that it was safe and secure to run from making a mistake or from taking some ” risks”. I have come to realize that it’s all a lie.

You are free to take God-calculated risks. ‘Godculated risks

Hahahaha!! See me coining words!

The “risk” can be a step of faith.

Stop focusing on the “What if it doesn’t turn out well” and start to imagine how happy you would feel if it actually turns out well.

You have spent enough time, imagining the little things that can go wrong, but please, also consider the numerous things that can go right.

Disclaimer; This is not to encourage you to do anything illegitimate, because everything will so go wrong if you do that thing. Lol!
I’m seeing the future and telling you now!

Please, I’m referring to all the real tangible and impact full visions you have been nursing.

I really hope that when we come back from our break soon, many of us will share our experience(s) of dealing with this fear of making a mistake.

A good number of people are sad about this break. Please forgive me, because this one is necessary.

I have gotten so used to writing to you, that I’m actually teary right now.

Martha!!! What’s the Matter?

Let’s say this is probably one of the lessons we should take out of this period. It’s simply a case of misplaced priorities.

Follow me dear! I will take you to the exact place I’m coming from.

Luke 10:38-42.

That scripture tells the story of Mary and Martha.
Apparently, Jesus visited the house of these two wonderful women.

You know their brother was a friend of Jesus.

Yes, Lazarus (from death to life)
That’s an aside.

Please, take note; Jesus came around, Martha received Him herself and quickly ran into the kitchen to prepare some sumptuous meal for her Great Guest.

At this point, I can say that I sincerely relate to her pain.

She was in the kitchen maybe cutting, frying, baking, boiling, washing and dishing at the same time( I’m just assuming though, I wasn’t there with her) and her beloved sister Mary, was quietly seated at the feet of the Guest, Jesus, listening carefully.

Be truthful, if you were in Martha’s shoe, what would you have done?

To be honest, if I wasn’t discerning like Mary, I would have done the exact thing Martha did and maybe even more.

Martha reported Mary to Jesus and asked Him to send her in to help her fix the food ASAP.(As soon as possible)

Unknowingly for Martha, she was doing the right thing but at the very wrong time.

There is nothing bad in treating your guest, to a delicious meal and this guest was not even any kind of guest it was Jesus.

But, this Guest is not the kind that is after your food.

He is the bread of life remember.
He was more interested in feeding Martha than in her feeding Him. And the same goes with you.

Great right?

I know that there are some guests that their arrival just sends a signal that you will sleep in the kitchen today, because you really want to treat them well. Right?

However, Jesus wasn’t there to be entertained.

Mary was discerning enough and instead of being worried and worked up like her sister she chose to sit and listen to the Master.

I can even imagine their personalities from reading about them.
Martha, I can say was very energetic( when her brother died, she was the first to run to Jesus), very compassionate, a good talker and probably a perfectionist.

Mary on the other hand was more reserved, a good listener and also compassionate.

Martha’s choice to entertain Jesus was a good idea but was not the needful thing to do at that moment.

Jesus told her that she was careful and troubled about many things, but one thing is needful and Mary had chosen that part.

What lesson are we then to take out from this period?

The trap of Activities!

We so much love activities.

I love activities and by God’s Grace, I have the energy. LOL!

Usually, we would be up and running doing countless things for the “Lord”.

This is excellent, and we should not stop doing things for the lord, but sometimes most of us get so engrossed in these activities that it barely spares us anytime to actually sit down and listen to God as a Father to Child.

Yeah! This is a misplaced priority.

Activities should follow after we have sat still and listened to what our Father has to say.

If not, we can just be jumping up and down, down and up, doing the things he never gave approval of, then leaving the important things behind.

Probably Martha was concerned that if she fails to cook the meal early, Jesus would finish teaching and leave without eating. And she can’t start cooking after Jesus was done teaching.

As sweet and reasonable as this excuse sounds, it still doesn’t make it right. What is needful is sitting and listening and nothing can replace that.

Just in case you are often worried, troubled, burdened about many things like Martha, why not try taking them first to the Master’s feet and actually sitting to hear what He has to say about your predicament.

Don’t forget, He alone has the very words of Life.

I hope that with this, when everything is restored fully, we don’t get carried away once more by activities.

As you sit and listen, speak those burdens to His ears, he loves to hear your voice also. I tell you!

Thank you sooooo much for following this post till the end. πŸ€πŸ€—

I’m delighted to have you here. πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

It’s very sad how these words, “Practice makes Perfect”, has found its place amongst the clichΓ©d mantras we have today.

However, the truth that is hidden inside of these words still remain life changing and transforming to those that really find the light that lies therein.

Usually, we tend to associate this with positive things, unfortunately, this principle strongly binds with the good and bad.

What am I driving at?

Whatsoever you do repeatedly, be it good or bad, you become a pro at it.

You see!

So, if you really want to break away from some bad things that are already accustomed to you, why not try investing zero efforts at it and see how that goes.

This is a prologue though. LOL!

On a deeper level, a wise man once said and I rephrase, ” practice doesn’t make perfect in itself, but perfect practice makes perfect. “

Deep right?

Yes, I know.

Then I began to wonder to myself, how can it be perfect practice?

I thought perfect and practice shouldn’t ever be merged together.

Come on, if it’s perfect then it’s no practice.

Thankfully, I understood what this means.
So, perfect and practice can feel free to stand together.

It is called “perfect practice”, when little adjustments are made and followed consistently to the end.

Let me paint a quick picture for you. If you are a lady, then this should resonate very well with you.

Take the preparation of “swallows” like Semovita, oatmeal, Amala(Yam flour), pounded yam and the likes, for instance.

I believe that the first time you ever tried your hands on any of these, it wasn’t as perfect as it is now. (Unless, you mum doesn’t throw the ” is this how you plan to embarrass me in your husband’s house?” line. LOL!

Actually, my mum scarcely says that, but it’s very typical of African Mothers.

Back to my point, what changed?

How did you get better?
I know you didn’t get better because you got older.

I can confidently say that you got better at it because you put in perfect practice.

For me;
Back then, I asked questions like, why are there lumps inside of it?

Why is the food too soft?

As I got answers, I took the small adjustments and practiced again.

I was wise enough to reduce the quantity of water used previously.
If I had continued repeating the same method I began with, I believe I wouldn’t have got perfect at it.

Now, because you have been doing it for so many years, will not bring you to your desired perfection.

You need to apply little changes, before you can see a change.
Perfect practice, that is, little improvements in your practice makes you perfect and not just the number of years spent.

Do you want to improve on your personality and become more nice and caring?

Why not look for people that have this precious trait and see how they do it, then keep practicing it.

Practice positivity, which means being positive about your own life and life itself.

Whatever you give time and attention to, grows.
You may just be an average pianist, but if you give it perfect practice, with time you will find yourself walking in perfection.

Finally, perfection is reserved in time, it doesn’t come in a day, it doesn’t also come easily. It takes due diligence.

Dear reader, don’t give up so soon, you are very good at that good thing you are doing now, you just need some practice and time to realize this.

Thank you dear for taking your time to go through this particular post.
I hope you are taking one or two words out of here.

Please, do visit us next time, you are most welcome anytime, and any day!

Kindly check out our previous posts, if you are new here, I’m sure you will love them.

As humans, it is in our very old nature to care for ourselves alone and everyone else can “go to hell”, pardon the words.

It’s more like a selfish trait embedded in our make up as human beings.

So, as long as the issue on ground has nothing to do with us or our immediate family, we pay little or no attention to it.

Meanwhile, I recently noticed how distant I was growing towards other people’s burdens.

It’s more like I was gradually losing my compassion for people generally, as long as I didn’t know them.

The more I heard sad news of people, the more I cared less about them, at least the bird wasn’t building a nest on my own head, I thought.

However, while reading through the story of Jesus at the wedding in Cana, something new struck me hard.

I never saw it in that light.

Don’t worry, it’s not even the way the water became wine. Thank God for that wonderful miracle though.

Apparently, Jesus’ mother, Mary, and His disciples were all invited for a wedding at Cana of Galilee. John 2:1-11.As a matter of fact, they were guests at the wedding, the bible didn’t record them having any close relationship with the couple.

So they were out to have a good time.

Then, Mary, a wedding guest, being observant, noticed the shortage in wine. There was no wine any longer at the wedding.

Can you imagine this happening at a party you attended and the party is not yet close to the end, and the drinks are exhausted already.

This amazing woman, Mary, took it upon herself to cover up for this couple, and save them from disgrace.

She ran to Jesus to inform Him of the latest development.

Little wonder Jesus said, ” what have I to do with thee?”, aside the truth that His hour was not yet come.

This Mary’s single act of recognising a need and trying to fix the answer was just so “photizoing” to me.( LOL, enlightening I mean to say)

Ok, just imagine you attended a wedding party and on your getting there, with your beautiful outfit, shoe and breath taking make-up, you were informed that the drinks are out.

You know, we usually say that a party without drinks and food is no party but just a meeting, probably a House fellowship. Lol!

A good number of us, will just sit there and rain curses on the couple for supposedly being stingy and their inability to plan a proper wedding party.

We may even go ahead and take the gossip to town and also add that there were no chairs at the Wedding.

“Those guys should have just gone to a court and go to their house, can you imagine, they made zero preparation for their guests, the drinks were cheap and they were just few, they also finished before the party even started, did I mention that I didn’t see a chair to sit down at that wedding?”

Blah blah blah…

Yes, we are capable of saying these and even more.

But, Mary didn’t do any of those.

She had strong compassion on the newlyweds and equally tried her best not to expose their lack.

I don’t know if you also noticed this.

After, the new wine had been served, and the governor was praising the couple for saving the best for the last, Mary and Jesus didn’t say a word about it.

Mary didn’t carry a megaphone to announce that she was the brain behind those good wine.

She didn’t mention that the best wine was a product of her Son. This was because, she never had any intention to receive the praise and honour from Men.

She had real compassion and acted it out.

If you carefully examine the life of Jesus, you will see that compassion drove him to do a lot of good works.

It was this same compassion that held him to the cross and not the big nails.

I know I can really get better in this compassion thing, and so can you.

As my sister usually says, “we rise by lifting others”.

Our compassion can lift burdens out of the hearts of men.

1 John 3:17;
AMP:But if anyone has this world’s goods (resources for sustaining life) and sees his brother and fellow believer in need, yet closes his heart of compassion against him, how can the love of God live and remain in him?

1Peter 3:8;
NIV:Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

This is Photizolife for today, hope you enjoyed your read and was equally edified?🀭

Thank you so much for reading through to the end. 😍😘

Is there really anything like low days?

I mean, the days you sincerely feel like doing nothing, absolutely nothing. You just want to sit back and watch how everything plays out.

Oh yes! Those days really exist.

There are some days, I just don’t feel like myself.

I just feel uninterested with productivity, even when I know the saying that goes with unproductivity.

There are so many times, I don’t feel like creating contents or handling my God given responsibilities.

Some may call it Mood swing, but actually my mood might not even be on any swing.

I would rather call it mental laziness. Yes, That’s it!

For some, these days might have been brought as a result of some unpleasant news or something similar.

The truth is that as humans there are days we will crave complete rest and isolation from doing the needful.

I once heard a couple say something about desiring private time even though still completely in peace and love with their spouse.

If you really know you are working hard, you know better than to lie to yourself of course.

So you are really working your hands hard, please try taking a rest and a treat. It doesn’t cost much. When those low moments come crawling in, follow suit by crawling into a little rest to rejuvenate yourself.

Stop being perplexed that everything will scatter outside your watch, if you keep ignoring the attention your body craves, you will one day burn out the body and you know what happens next.

To the second part.

Feelings are fickle, completely unreliable.
However, we shouldn’t allow our feelings take the driver’s seat of our lives.

You know why?

I will tell you.

Most of the things we feel like doing naturally will rather lead to poverty or sin.

You see!

I feel like sleeping, going out for fun, watching movies, eating and drinking….

In themselves, they are unharmful; But, watch it!
Because poverty is just lurking around the corner if we keep doing just these.

Proverbs 20:13;
NIV:Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare.

Proverbs 23:21;
AMP:For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty, and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

In as much as we should pay attention to what our body needs, we should also be careful not to overindulge it to frivolities.

Over to the mountains!

Mountains to me symbolizes our high days.

The days we are just super extra. We feel like we can take any Goliath by the head or do the unimaginable.

These days are also real, aside our energy level during the day: the time of the day we are more productive, there are some days we wake up feeling all charged and active to do anything.

They might even be as a result of an exciting news or something.
I would recommend we intentionally seize those days to do the most important things that matter to our existence.
Another thing we should do is to recognize our high and low days and use them to our advantage. Pinpointing the relative times in your life, gives you the opportunity to rise above it.

Remember dear, our feelings are deceptive, so you should not wait till you feel happy before you act happy. See this.

I don’t know if you really understand what I have for you today, but I can say I’m in my valley today!🀣🀣🀣

But that didn’t stop me from giving you some light.

You understand now right?

The holy spirit is here to walk us through your valleys and mountains. Allow Him hold your hands, trust me you will barely tell between the mountains and valleys if He does.

Thank you for banking with usπŸ˜…πŸ˜…
Hmmmm we don’t mind if you actually bank with us for real. πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Never forget!

Ever heard of this one?

I think the first time I heard these words, they were from my dad.
Back then, I didn’t understand fully what it was all about.
I just knew that Daddy was a big fan of whatever this meant.

According to Britannica, Delay of gratification is the act of resisting an impulse to take an immediately available reward in the hope of obtaining a more valued reward in the future.
So the opposite of this should be called “Early gratification or Instant Gratification”.

Early gratification on the other hand, can be very dangerous and also has the ability to shortchange the more valued reward for the less available one.

Early gratification is what the devil offers us often.

It’s faster, feels cheaper and comes with “less stress”.
And most of us are in search of the quick and easy way, so we dabble into it.

Recently, I became curious as to the reason(s) most of us settle for less all in the name of “I can’t wait any longer”, I need my reward immediately.

Oh yes!! What’s so attractive about this Early gratification that we just keep falling victims.

These are a some of the facts I came up with.

If these two are missing in your life, you will definitely settle for less. Forget it, you have settled already.

I’m actually serious because it takes patience and self control to keep working, following through the right processes just knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Some people just think they should “blow” permit me to use the word, after their first attempt at something.

So when it looks like they are not “blowing” they look for a quick way, then bail out and just settle for all the less.

For others, they just can’t control themselves, they feel like they can use their body in any manner and just get money to enjoy life, as if that’s all there is to life.

That feeling to belong, is what is killing most of us.

We just want to blend in so that we will not be the ones that are not ‘trendy’.

I once heard of a young student that got some money and then added all the money she had to buy an iPhone.

Wait, I’m not saying that using an iPhone is bad o.

As a matter of fact, I’m trusting God for one🀣 soon.
Yes, seriously!

All I’m saying is that she used up all the money and then started going from room to room begging for food in school.
This my dear, is not wisdom, not even close.

It’s safe to assume that she was under pressure from her peers to get one, and she yielded.

This is another reason I can say leads to instant gratification.

That feeling to brag and show the world that “God is good to you“, even when no one cares in the real sense.

Recently, my sibling was telling me how guys these days are just trooping into some dubious businesses because they also want to ride the latest Benz and show the people that don’t care that they are successful.

However, when I’m talking delay of gratification it’s not me canvassing for you to work till you are aging before you begin to enjoy the benefits of life. No, not at all.

Mini minds Tennis

It’s just for us to be wise and make sure we are not ruining our future of a more valued reward, just because of this seemingly pleasant present reward.

Some people may feel like they have been working really hard, but nothing is showing forth for it, so they want to look for a shorter but illegitimate way out.

I will sincerely advise you really reconsider that thought.

In Matthew 4:1-11, when the devil came to tempt Jesus, he came even with some rewards, but Jesus knew better.

He understood that there was a better reward waiting for him, so he didn’t even give in to this early gratification of the devil.

Verse 8-9:
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdom of the world, and the glory of them. And he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Remember John 1:3: All things were made by him and without him was not anything made, that was made.

Now, you see how ridiculous the devil could have sounded to Jesus, while he said those words.

God has a more valued reward for you, you may not see it now, but that doesn’t mean He doesn’t.

Strive lawfully, and you will receive your crown.

Thank you dear for taking out time to see what Photizolife has to offer you again.

It’s indeed my pleasure to have you here.
It just feels like I can see you as I’m giving the closing remarksπŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Motivational/ 3min read

A good percentage of people are on the verge of giving up.

They just want to throw in the towel and forget about all the hard work they had put into building what they have presently.

I tell you, starting out something is the most difficult step, building on the other hand takes perseverance, faith, clear vision and discipline. check this

Meanwhile, there is nothing as easy as destroying.
It’s just in a matter of minutes and you see everything you have suffered to build crumble.

Envisage how much time and effort it takes to build a house, and the little inconsequential minutes it takes to pull it all down.

You see, why give in to the inner pressure of destroying what has taken you years and resources to build, all because you feel like it’s failing to measure up to the big picture you have in mind.
Feelings are deceptive most times.

Constantly, you put yourself in the difficult situation of comparing the works of your hands to the works of people that have gone ahead of you.

Do you think it was equally easy for those your supposed models to build these empires they have now?

Come on, Rome they say, wasn’t built in a day!

Countlessly, they were on the brink of giving up as you are now.
There were times they felt their works were never going to measure up or fit into the society.

They battled through the lie of not being good enough, or not having anything tangible to offer.

But do you know what?

They refused to throw in the towel.

Perseverance was not comfortable for them but they chose it.

Discipline was not friendly to them, but they embraced it.

Mastery was draining them of their energy and sapping life out of them, but they kept striving for it.

Nothing good and lasting is built overnight.
There is a process of growth and it’s not convenient, but your ability to brace up and keep your head up and your eyes fixed on that vision is what will count on the long run.

It doesn’t matter how many times, you have failed or have been called a failure, very soon no one is going to be concerned about what transpired in the past or how much work you put into fulfilling your vision.

All they will see is your success.

The journey is not sweet, but the destination is worth the hurdle.
Keep being refined till all they see is pure gold.

PS: As Children of God, we are more privileged to have a comforter that comes from God.

But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the father, even the spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the father, he shall testify of me.

When it looks like you can’t do it no more, why not turn to the holy spirit for help.
He is your helper, comforter, strengthener and so much more. He is rooting for you big time. He is on your side, you are not alone.

Thank you so much for reading!

While writing this, I wasn’t even planning of posting it here, but here we are ….

I hope you are leaving here motivated.

Hello dear,

Welcome back to Photizolife!

Today, we will be talking about a topic I subconsciously ended a long time ago with the words “to be continued”, even when I had no intent to continue it up until now.

Please, do check out the first episode on this topic, you will totally love it; I love it because of how well it resonates with my experience.

This particular episode on little things will be going in a new different light, keep reading and you will understand better.

If I may ask, when are we going to stop underestimating the power of “little”?

In isolation, anything little, looks powerless, minute, inconsequential and useless, but when compounded, it stands a great chance of causing great success or great havoc.

The seemingly “littleness” of these things actually distracts us from its potence and in our ignorance, it is empowered to grow from weeds into Iroko-like trees, while still unchecked.

Apparently, I didn’t know when I delved into exaggeration unconsciously.
Up until the holy spirit started calling my attention to the little exaggerations that I didn’t even take note of.

It’s one thing to intentional exaggerate a point or a story, to spice it up for the listeners.
It’s another thing to exaggerate without even paying attention just because you have been talking for so long.

I know someone may think it doesn’t matter, but it actually does matters, our mouths are not to run on their own like a tap and start to express things the way they are not.                        Pinterest

We are to present truth the way it is without mincing or exaggerating words.

Our Yes should be Yes and our No No.
For some of us, our Yes has a question mark attached to it and the same applies with our No.

It’s no news any more that there is no such thing as little lie, white lie, blue lie, black lie and colourless lie.

You may say that it’s because I have not been in a deep serious situation that will leave me no option but to tell a “little” lie.

Yes, I don’t have so much of such experience(s), but most of us, already have it registered before hand in the back of our minds that we will tell just a little lie, when the occasion arises.

No matter the situation it still doesn’t matter, what matters is that you just told a lie and a lie is what it is.

For me, what I do in situations that I sense will try to make me tell a lie to escape is that I pray about it, that it doesn’t even come up.

I know this may sound old school or absurd to some, but it actually does work perfectly every time.

We all need to understand that our High Priest has actually lived as a man, which enables him to understand our exact feelings.

Yes, He didn’t live on earth during the 21st century, but He still understands totally what it feels to be human.

Hebrews 4:15;
AMP: For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.

He knows better than to lead you into situations without providing a means of escape.

What about the little envy and jealousy?

Really, it’s not bad to admire an individual and be inspired to do something good yourself, but we all know it when we begin to drift from admiration into envy and jealousy.

That little envy and jealousy of ours can grow into something deadly if we keep nursing it in our hearts.

When you begin to sense that your heart is already getting envious of another person, why not try praying for the person to do better.

Lol, that one can be sounding off to you but it seriously works.
When we pray for people its a sign that we love them right?
so when you intentionally force yourself to pray for those you are gradually getting envious of, that envy will start to fade away.

Remember, envy and jealousy are not fruits of the Spirit.

Ohh, I’m so guilty of this next one.

Passing derogatory comments about people.
It’s more like I keep forgetting that our words are meant to minister grace to the hearers, that’s why I can go on social media and pass remarks about people like I’m the one that created them.

I know I’m not the only one standing on this table, but we can’t keep justifying our actions.

As little as the saying “that guy’s picture is not fine, why is his head big like,” and similar other comments we make sound; it’s still not in our place to do so.

All these “little little things” are building strong foundations in our minds and if we continue, it will one day birth something bigger than we ever imagined.

It’s easier and better if we can uproot them now as weeds than wait till it grows into an Iroko.

If it doesn’t glorify God and edify the hearer please swallow and flush it out of your mind.

Let’s become the guardians of our hearts and mouths.

To those that may feel like they are already on this path and just can’t turn back, Please, you can actually turn back that’s why this post is coming up now for you to retrace and do things differently.

Watch out for the little things!!!

Where does it even come from?

Just yesterday, I received a good news that kept me dancing around almost through out the day.

I’m even still in awe as I write this.
The “Joy” was just something else.

Later on, I was calm enough to process all that happened.

Then, it struck me hard.

I realized how much I had reserved and associated my joy with ephemeral things.

Don’t get it twisted.
Good news ought to be celebrated big time, but is that the only time we should celebrate?

After a little reflection, it all came together and was making a whole lot of sense to me.

Should it come from my possession, remarks/praises of men, material gifts and the likes?

All these things actually give joy in themselves, but should they also be in control of our reactions and attitude?

That’s it.

Joy is not an act we put on when the circumstances of life are in our favour, it is meant to be our attitude at all time.

Joy is beyond the feelings that our hormones sends to our brain at the sight of “good” things. ( I don’t even know how all this brain and hormone stuff works) 🀣🀣

For many of us, we wait till people praise us, money floods our accounts, we get a new house or car attached with our names, before we rejoice.

This way, joy is more like a garment we put on and pull off as the supposed triggers come and go.

It’s not everyday we get a new house, a new car, receive mind blowing contract or flattered with the praises of men.

So what happens on the days we receive no “joy triggers”?

We are meant to rejoice in the lord at all times.

If we keep letting our situations control our joy then we will be joyful for probably 50days out of 365(6)days of the year, so for the larger number of days, we will be gloomy and dejected.

More so, Joy is a fruit of the spirit.

So joy is meant to flow from within us.
As a child of God, the holy spirit produces Joy within you, but you may not know it because you have not given it expression.

Let the fruit of joy grow within us.

The same bible that says that in the world we will face persecutions is still the same that said we should “rejoice in the lord always: and again I say, rejoice.” Philippians 4:4(KJV)

In the midst of the confusions and hardships, I know it’s really hard to stay joyful, but we just have to recognize and understand where our joy comes from.

If we can allow God to hold our hands, living from joy will not be so difficult.

It’s very dangerous to allow material things and the sweet words of men be the controller of our joy, because the days they don’t come, we will be super drained and trust me, they don’t come everyday.

Choose joy today as an attitude and not just an act.

Soooo in a very joyful toneπŸ˜‡πŸ˜…πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

Thank you darling,❀ for stopping and peeping into Photizolife today.

Our world today barely spares us enough time to meet our pressing needs and work our jobs, not to now mention a time to reflect.

Is there even any need for reflection?

For all I care I have a good job, I provide enough for the hands that are stretched up to me and still even make time to attend church services.

For some of us, we are even dead scared of the answers we will find the very moments we begin to reflect, so we chose to shove them off and run away from them.

Yes, that’s what most of us have been doing since forever.
Little wonder we are caught up in this rat race.

Recently, I began to ponder on the genuine reasons many people keep falling into depression day in, day out.

You know what, they are not to be blamed.
They are just victims and you are very lucky that you are not.

The pressure of this life is just too much for anyone to bear alone. You will be overwhelmed.
Hence, the need for God’s place in your life.

Pressure from your inner self, family, friends, church and even the society.

It’s funny how for some folks, it’s just a mere imagination of pressure. In the real sense, no one is actually pressurizing you, but you feel they should pressurize you, so you are being pressurized by your own self. Ha ha ha I love this pun.

I hope you get the point.

Reflection is a robust subject, I’m still looking for the specific point to nail down.

So the reflection I mean today is all about having a careful thought, a detailed analysis of everything going on around you and within you, also allowing the wind blow on your face, taking in all the freshness that comes with it.

Basically , it’s all about sitting and having deep thoughts and examining the things you have done, and how differently you could have done them.

It’s also about basking in the euphoria of what has been said about you by God and shutting out completely the noise of life.

Reflection on the Word: The word of God has every thing about every situation.
You don’t know that yet because you have not found the exact word that brings light in your present dark situation.

Often, we take too much from the world and too less from the Word.

And this is where our problem lie. Sooner or later, if we keep ignoring the word; not allowing it sink deep within us, we begin to have itchy ears then swayed by every wind of doctrine.

Aside reading the Bible as an old book that refuses to get outdated and will never be outdated, you can begin to read it carefully and reflect deeper on the words written there.

Another thing, most of us get really busy and we neglect the most essential things and then, before we know it we are thrown off balance, chasing shadows.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.(KJV)

Don’t just throw caution to the wind, really reflect on the things you have been up to of late and check if they were normal to you before and acceptable in the sight of your maker or if it’s just new.

In hard times, it’s very easy to give in to the pressure to quit or destroy all that you have built.

No, don’t do that!

In times like that, when you are just overwhelmed, confused and battling with a lot of self confidence in what you are doing, it’s time to reflect.

Instead of giving up, reflect on the things that made you start that very thing.
Reflect on the promises of God for you when you started that relationship, business, family, career and what ever it may be.

You feel like you are overwhelmed and tired, but that’s just because you are unconsciously reflecting on what the world keeps throwing at you.

Be intentional about the very thing you want to reflect on and allow the Holy spirit strengthen you more in the process

Just so I don’t go on and on, we need to start reflecting on who we truly are, not our mistakes or what people said about us.

Make out time to reflect on the Word, refresh yourself and be invigorated with the right energy you get from the Word.
The run has not helped you this far, and if you neglect and keep running, there are tendencies of you falling into depression and sin.

It’s time for reflections.

I must say, I was at the brink of not writing this content, but I guess God had better plans for someone to hear this today.

Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!!

Thank you for paying Photizolife a visit; I really hope you were edified.

I love you so much and God loves you better than I love you and you love you🀣😍😘

Someone’s play on word’s skill is really getting sweet.
You can laugh, it’s beautiful.

Catch you next time!

It’s no news anymore that anything made of flesh will fail you.

Go on!!!
Name it.
Father, Mother, Daughter, Son, Uncle, Aunty, Brother, Sister, Spouse and the list goes on and on.

They will fail you not because they intentionally want to disappoint or love you less but it’s not just in their power to be infallible; more so, you chose to fix your gaze on them.

These folks were never designed to be the source of your help.

They are simply mediums or channels through which you receive help, not the source.

I have learnt this lesson countless times, most of us are even guilty of this.
Take for instance, you need money…

Don’t be surprised that I’m using money, but you reading this right now that is in need, money comes to you now in Jesus name, Amen.

Yes, back to my point.

Money is not bad actually, it’s the love of it that kills.

Don’t exalt money above God in your life.
Sorry, I just keep drifting off.πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒπŸ™ˆ

So, you need money, then you go to God for help praying that he should provide money, oftentimes while “praying”, we always have one particular person in mind.

For me, it’s my Dad.

Although, I’m “praying” to God for money, at the same time, I’m picturing my dad cause I believe he is the one God should use to provide the money.

To my greatest surprise, whenever I pray with this mindset, my Dad always disappoints.

Not disappointment in the sense that he won’t send me money anymore but because he is human, he may not even be in the right place to do that.

This is when things like “I couldnt get to the bank,” “I’m sorry, was very busy,” “I totally forgot,” “I couldn’t get the money I was expecting today,” “please let it wait till Monday,” and the likes come up.

But God in his faithfulness, always makes another way.

At that moment, when my earthly parents can’t meet up early, miraculously I always get the money if it’s needed urgently, by another person I never ever thought of.

Cause God wants to get all the glory.

My Dad still sends the money later, but this time around is more like another miracle, because I will not be expecting.

With time, I got a better understanding of not putting any man in my heart when praying to God for help.
Do you get what I mean?

God will not come down from heaven to pay in money to your account, but he can use someone for you. (Miracle Alert) I love itπŸ˜πŸ˜…

I’m not trying to discourage you from believing in your parents or trusting them to provide for you, but I just want you to know in your “mind of minds” that not all things are in their control, but all things are in the control of your heavenly father.

Haven’t you heard of uncles that were really super nice and generous not the stingy ones, the ones that were really bent on helping some relatives, but at the brink of the breakthrough, they lost their lives and those fellows were left stranded, because they looked up to the uncles more than they looked up to their maker.

People transit from affluence to zero every now and then.

Our gaze at all times, should not be at people because people are subject to change and they are not the unchangeable changer.

Your gaze should be on the one who truly has the power to help and transform men.

Unfortunately, we rely so much on what we are and what we have acquired.

I am a lawyer, Doctor, Software developer, President and whatever cool name may be attached to our badges.

I’m not a bearer of bad news, but the truth remains that there are some life and death situations that our qualifications and accomplishments can’t bail us from.
We all hate to admit it but it’s the hard truth.

Ohhhh, you don’t even need to imagine far, take this current pandemic, with all our medical qualifications we are yet to find a stable solution and cure.

Take it or leave it, we cannot help ourselves.
A baby cannot help itself, but totally dependent on the parents especially the mother for help.
We are created to be dependent on God, (though we have some responsibilities as Children of God), not on fellows creatures but the Creator.

Just because he created you doesn’t mean he will keep coming to help you, uninvited.

No, God is not like that, he doesn’t just assume you need help, he expects you to ask for that help and look up to him.

Most times, His tender mercies cover us, but let’s cultivate the habit of inviting him into every situation.

I’m not trying to disregard asking for help from our relatives, all I’m just saying is that our trust and gaze should be on God and not men, knowing fully well that every good and perfect gift cometh from above.

Adjust your gaze now.

James 1:17;
KJV:Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Further reference; Psalm 121:1-8.

I love you so much and God loves you so so much moreβ€¦πŸ’˜

Catch you later. πŸ’•πŸ’•

That was the first speech I was to present in front of a crowd, not a massive crowd like “The Experience” kind, but over 100 faces was a crowd to me. 🀷

But was that even my first speech?

Girl! you used to represent your school in Debates when you were much younger…  Lol.

That was a very long time ago.

Oh so sorry!

I forgot that you are not a mind reader.

Let me refresh so you can get the gist.

I was a fresher, you know, ‘Jambite’, ‘fresh meat’,’ Jolly Just Come’, or whatever you call new students in your university.

Then I filled in for a particular course in communication, little did I know what I signed in for.

Apparently, this course was on Public speaking and at the end of the semester, each student was required to give any speech of their choice and trust me, a lot of score was allocated to this very performance.

Fun fact, I hate public speaking, though I can be good at it occasionally.

Why am I even saying this story?

Yes! The topic of my speech.
That’s where I’m headed.

On that particular day, I spoke on “Friendships”.

Don’t bother asking how it played out, I will tell you.

The presentation was a disaster,🀣🀣 I could barely hear myself, I can’t even tell how I survived without collapsing or vanishing into thin air.

The sad truth was that I had really good content, lots of nice rhymes and “punchlines”, but the delivery swallowed it all up.😏

A quick lesson for someone: Your charisma and mode of delivery can cover up for your poor content.
Keep the fear to yourself and fake boldness.

Wait, the Righteous are bold as a Lion.(Proverbs 28:1)
You don’t even need to fake it.

Today, I just want to say one or two things on friendship.

I remember talking about a particular category of friends in my speech.

At least I talked it on my paper, can’t remember if they really heard me say it out loud.

They are called the FAIRWEATHER FRIENDS.

These ones only come around during summers.
When everything is rosy, fair and sweet.
The moment you really need them around, during winters, they are nowhere close to being available.

Over and over again, we have been constantly warned to watch out for these category of friends.
Hardly are we enlightened of the need for a self check.

Everyone feels they are the good friends that should be looking out for the bad ones.
So who are now these bad ones?

Luke 6:41;
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceives not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Let’s not be too quick in accusing our current friends of how parasitic they have been, can we pause and take a deep look on what value we have contributed in the friendship.

Are you that person that cannot stick with your ” friend” when they desperately need you?

Or you are the one who never has anything to offer, but always very eager to receive?

Enough of all these parasitic behaviour!

That friend you are constantly running to, has some worries equally. Don’t assume that because they always provide the solutions, they have no problems.
Ask them and help in any possible way you can.

However, when we are done with our self checks, watch out for toxic relationships in your life.
Make sure you are not also very toxic to someone else.

How will you be friends with people that diminish you, and make you think less of yourself?

They never see you as competent enough to achieve any substantial goal.

I really love and appreciate constructive criticism, I know the people that give me this genuinely because they want the best for me.

In the same vein, there are destructive criticisms and I don’t need this, be wise enough to distinguish between the both.

1Corinthians 15:33;

Be not deceived: evil communication corrupt good manners.

You think their words are just jokes, but with time you will see your self worth going down the drain.

More so, I learnt from a coach the danger of praise singers.

If you have friends that never see you do anything wrong; they can’t point out something in love and correct you, then start praying the good ones come your way.

Praise singers will keep singing your praise even on your way to destruction.

I believe God can bless someone with the gift of men. Friendship like that of David and Jonathan.

You don’t need to have so many of them.
You can have just one friend that is better than ten put together.

This is not to discourage networking with people, networking is super important, but close friends should be chosen with so much intentionality.

Friends that will not be intimidated by your success, but you both hold hands together as you climb the ladder of success.

You see why you don’t need a city full of people as friends.

With all the stress that comes with friendship, you might be discouraged on having any friend, but you need people to survive, you need people to go far.

Proverbs 18:24;

NIV:One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

AMP:The man of many friends [a friend of all the world] will prove himself a bad friend, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Personally, I’m not the perfect friend to my friends but trust me, I’m on my way. So should you.

Ask for heavenly ordained friends today and make up your mind to be very thing in your prayer request.

Thank you so so so much for staying till the end.

If you are really interested in knowing more about friendship because a saying goes that ” you smell like the company you keep and your network is your net worth.”

kindly listen to this podcast by Debola Deji-kurunmi on friendship titled firefighters and firelighters. Trust me there is a lot to know on this friendship matter and she is the plug you need.

You will thank me later!

Also, don’t forget to like, leave a comment below and share with your friends. We all need to make better friendships.

Do have a great week!
